SRJ Holds Social Media Marketing Seminar to Great Success

SRJ Marketing Communications held a seminar titled “Social Media Marketing: An Integrated Approach” at the Hilton Dallas/Park Cities on May 29. Steven R. Jolly, principal of SRJ, and the rest of the SRJ team treated the near-capacity crowd of intrigued attendees to a fun and informative presentation.

“I have been in this business for 30 years now, and have seen a lot of trends and advances in the way we market brands,” said Jolly. “I have not seen anything take hold and become as big of a phenomenon as with social media and the way it has altered the communication landscape.”

The seminar began with a a broad introduction to social media and the need for integration within traditional marketing initiatives. After a 10 minute networking session where all attendees were encouraged to meet at least two strangers in the room, Armando Gonzalez took charge of the room.

The seminar began with an overview of integrated marketing communications and the need for companies and organizations to leverage every possible tactic to effectively reach target markets. Jolly stressed the importance of taking an integrated approach for marketing initiatives to produce the best results.

Armando Gonzalez, an account executive with SRJ, then took charge of the seminar by delivering a detailed presentation on social media marketing. Complete with entertaining remarks and compelling video clips used for underlining points, Gonzalez backed up the usefulness of social media marketing with statistics and real-world examples.

“Social media marketing has a lot to do with impressions and top-of-mind awareness,” said Gonzalez. “I simply used examples of specific businesses that have done an excellent job through social media of staying active in my mind, even when I was not interested in the products at the time.”

In addition, Chris Kinsman, creative director at SRJ, gave a brief presentation on brand integrity before the floor was opened for a healthy question and answer session where attendees inquired about how they can utilize social media as busy professionals and small business owners. The seminar concluded with a networking opportunity for all.

“Social media marketing is on a lot of business owners’ minds right now, and rightfully so,” said Jolly. “I believe we were able to get our point across in this seminar and that while social media marketing is an important tactic, it’s just another tool in the marketer’s toolbox.”
